چکیده
Polymeric membrane ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) have been widely applied in environmental analysis. In many cases of practical relevance, however, when these sensors are complex samples, they could suffer from problems biofouling (related to microorganisms and biofilms) which may shorten the sensors’ lifetimes cause measurement errors. Herein, we describe a robust effective method endow ISE membranes with anti-biofouling properties based on surface modification silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs). The is modified hydrophilic polydopamine (PDA) followed by in-situ formation Ag NPs. PDA enhances anti-adhesive increasing hydrophilicity, while NPs impart strong anti-microbial membrane. A classical polymeric K+-ISE has chosen as model. Compared unmodified K+-ISE, exhibits significantly improved terms low viability adhesion rates bacteria retaining its original potentiometric ion response properties. Moreover, sensor show an excellent long-term stability. We believe that proposed approach can be extended improve anti-fouling abilities other membrane-based electrochemical for detection samples.

Theory and Computer Simulation of the Time-Dependent Selectivity Behavior of Polymeric Membrane Ion-Selective Electrodes.
A theoretical treatment of the time-dependent potential response of ion-selective electrodes to sample solutions containing primary and interfering ions is presented. The theory accounts for the influence of ion fluxes in the electrode membrane and the contacting aqueous sample layer and describes the variations in the apparent selectivity behavior as a function of the measuring time. The appli...
متن کاملSelective assembly of nanoparticles on block copolymer by surface modification
We have developed a method to selectively deposit nanoparticles on the ordered nanoscale elements of PS–PI–PS (polystyrene–polyisoprene–polystyrene) block copolymer film. The process utilizes reactive ion plasma to selectively modify the PS surface with amine groups to electrostatically attract negatively charged Au nanoparticles. In spite of the strong interparticle Coulombic repulsion, the de...

In this study, the novel surface ion-imprinted polymer (IIP) particles were prepared and applied as a electrode modifier in stripping voltammetric detection of lead(II) ion. A carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with IIP nanoparticles and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was used for accumulation of toxic lead ions. Various factors that govern on electrochemical signals including carbon...
